iVIVA CANTINA LA MEXICANA!

Lookin' for something to do tonight? You know, something besides watching reality TV... Well then come on down to CANTINA LA MEXICANA in Somerville's bustling Union Square for some excellent Mexican cuisine and a line-up featuring some of the greatest rock 'n' roll that Greater Boston has to offer.

THIRTY (yes, THIRTY!) different types of tequila, FOUR rockin' bands, and NO COVER. Need I say more? Fine, I'll say more: BURRITOS!

[SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: Trying all thirty tequilas in one sitting will most likely result in even the most seasoned of drinkers to die a slow, ridiculously awesome death.]

WARNING: May cause hearing loss, blackouts, and spontaneous orgasm.

The night kicks off with rambunctious rockers HookerClops, who should also come with their own Surgeon General's Warning. These fellas start melting faces at 8PM sharp, so I don't wanna hear any  lame excuses about how all you nine-to-fivers have to get up early the next morning.

The Rare Occasions follow at 9PM with what is sure to be a high-energy set of keyboard-driven garage-rock raunch.

Then at 10PM, the chunky riffs of Leaders Led will fill the air as they soothe the crowd with their cool and calculating rock-fusion sound.

ONE tequila, two tequila, three tequila...FLOOR.

When the clock strikes 11PM, self-proclaimed renegade folk mystics Little War Twins will kick what's rest of the night into submission with their baroquean brand of heady folk-rock. Gaetana will, no doubt, regale the crowd with the story of the band's polka-tinged tune dedicated to the laments of drinking an entire bottle of tequila. And you, no doubt drunk on tequila, will be unable to resist the urge to dance along when the band begins to play. Hell, even all you sober individuals will be hard-pressed to stay still.

This will be a night you won't want to forget, but due to binge drinking, probably will.

Hope to see you there! Don't forget your sombreros.

PS: Thanks to Cat Verlicco for the band photos.
